What are visible vessels?
Vascular lesions are blood vessels that become visible close to the skin’s surface. They may look like fine red lines, small branches or localised red spots. Common areas include the nose, cheeks, around the mouth, neck, upper chest and legs.
There are different types of vascular changes, from superficial facial vessels and spider veins to angiomas and other vascular spots. Each may call for a different approach. Heredity, hormonal changes, pregnancy, sun exposure and prolonged standing or sitting can contribute to certain vascular concerns. Your consultation assesses the type of vessel and whether treatment with us is appropriate.
How does GentleMax Pro work?
Laser energy targets haemoglobin, the pigment in blood. The absorbed energy turns into heat, which can close the treated vessel and gradually make it less visible. Settings are selected for the vessel’s size, depth and location and your skin type.
GentleMax Pro includes cooling to help protect the skin. You may feel brief pinpricks or warmth. The number of treatments depends on the extent and response: a series of two to three visits is often discussed, while small vessels may respond sooner.
Face and legs
Options include facial vessels and spider veins, lower legs, upper legs and full legs. Larger or symptomatic varicose veins may need a different assessment or treatment. We explain the options, limitations and recovery for your situation; temporary redness or swelling can occur.
